Since August 2022 advisers in insurance-based investment and investment advice have been required to ask about your sustainability preferences and take them into account when selecting products. The basis is the European delegated regulations on IDD and MiFID II.
This page explains what lies behind that, which questions you can expect – and how we handle the topic ourselves.

The questions fall into three areas. You decide in each case whether and to what extent it matters to you – "no preference" is a valid answer and carries no disadvantage.
ESG stands for Environmental, Social and Governance. These three dimensions form the overarching framework within which the taxonomy, SFDR and PAI sit.
Important for your expectations: "sustainable" is not a uniformly protected term. Two products with the same label can hold very different portfolios. That is why we look at what is actually inside – not just what the product is called.
Sustainability preferences narrow the investment universe. That can affect diversification, costs and expected returns – in both directions. We set out what your specific preference means in practice instead of making blanket promises.
You can change your answers at any time. If your view shifts, we adjust the recommendation – see also retirement planning.
Spreefinanz Beratungs- und Vermittlungsagentur (broker under §§ 93 ff. of the German Commercial Code) commits to continuous and transparent reporting on its sustainability performance. Sustainability is part of our corporate strategy and covers ecological responsibility for our resource consumption, social responsibility towards our staff and partners, and economically sustainable management.
Reporting takes place annually. Management is responsible for implementing the sustainability strategy and for preparing and publishing the report. The documented progress, metrics and measures serve both internal steering and transparent information for our stakeholders.
We also ensure that relevant information on sustainable processes is accessible to all staff. The sustainability report is made available to all employees and provided to external partners on request.
This commitment came into force on 11 December 2024 and applies until further notice. It is reviewed regularly and adapted where necessary to current requirements and standards.

We are required to ask you. You are not required to have a preference. The answer "no preference" is expressly permitted and carries no disadvantage in the advice you receive.
ESG stands for Environmental, Social and Governance. It is the overarching framework within which the EU taxonomy, the Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) and the consideration of principal adverse impacts (PAI) are placed.
There is no blanket answer. A sustainability preference narrows the investment universe, which can affect diversification, costs and expected returns – in both directions. We set out what your specific preference implies.
Yes, at any time. Your sustainability preferences are not a one-off decision. If your view changes, we adjust the recommendation accordingly.
Annually. Management is responsible for implementation and publication. The report is available to all employees and is provided to external partners on request.

Sustainability is now a mandatory part of advice. We treat it as a decision with consequences – not as a tick box on a form.

We tell you what a sustainability label actually means and what it costs you in diversification or fees.

Your preference counts, not ours. "No preference" is a fully valid answer.
Preferences change. We review at suitable points whether the portfolio still matches your position.
